ANCAP is evaluating offers received from CGG Veritas (Paris), Western-Geco (London) and GeoCenter (Houston), for 2D seismic data processing obtained at the Uruguayan offshore. This includes on time processing (PSTM) of between 5,000 and 7,000 Km of offshore 2D seismic data, and on depth processing (PSDM) of a maximum of 2,500 Km of offshore 2D seismic data.

The data to be analyzed were obtained during 2011 by the company Reflect Geophysical Pte Ltd, under an exclusive contract with ANCAP. ANCAP already offers the field data and preprocessed data, as well as gravimetric and magnetometric data, on the basis of a flexible and favorable licensing model, to the oil companies interested in evaluate the hydrocarbon potential and the opportunities for exploration in the Uruguayan offshore. For the Uruguay Round II the Uruguayan government is offering areas for hydrocarbons exploration and exploitation. The processing and interpretation of the new 2D seismic data will be considered by ANCAP as units of the work program that should be presented by the interested oil companies. Other processing activities also can be included as units of the work program.

The data processing companies were required experience through its Processing Centers in at least a processing study of seismic data obtained in the South Atlantic offshore during the last 10 years, or similar geological environments, as well as to have available at least a cluster with a minimum of 50 CPUs available for exclusive use of this processing study. The companies also were required to be available at least 2 geophysical experts in charge of the study, with a minimum of 10 years experience with seismic processing studies, and at least one 2D or 3D seismic processing of date obtained in the South Atlantic offshore (or similar geophysical environments) in the last 5 years.

The contract to be signed by the winning company commit itself to present the requested products in 130 (for PSTM) and 180 days (for PSDM) to be counted from the data supplied by ANCAP.

The Uruguay Round II received its official launching on September 7, 2011 in Montevideo and the offers received will be opened on March 29, 2012. The bid include 15 offshore blocks covering most of the Uruguayan marine platform, that will be offered on the basis of a sharing production agreement.
